Learning outcomes of the course unit

 

By the end of the course, learners will be able to:

1.     Communicate and collaborate face-to face and using digital tools (email, video conferencing, shared workspaces).

2.     Participate in workplace meetings, argue, argue orally and in writing.

3.     Use productivity software effectively in work tasks.

4.     Ensure digital safety, data privacy, and responsible online behavior.

5.     Organize digital content, manage files, and use cloud-based storage efficiently.

6.     Adapt flexibly to digital tools in both office and remote environments.

Course content

 

The course is designed to encourage and develop students’ soft skill competences in the workplace – IT skills, speaking, reading, writing and presentation skills focusing on reasoning, formulating, and developing arguments and explanations.

Each week consists of one block of general language development, one block of informatics and one block of practical training. The thematic focus of the IT block:

 

Module 1 – Digital Literacy Basics (Weeks 1–4)

Module 2 – Productivity Tools (Weeks 5–8)

Module 3 – Communication & Collaboration (Weeks 9–12)

Module 4 – Digital Safety and Ethics (Weeks 13–16)

Module 5 – Hybrid Work Practices (Weeks 17–20)

Module 6 – Practical Projects & Application (Weeks 21–24)

Planned learning activities and teaching methods:  The seminars will be accompanied by work sheets, discussions, presentations, and writing. Active learning, awareness raising, autonomous learning, pair work, group work, text analysis, self- and peer assessment.

 

Individual assignments

Active in-class participation, home assignment/projects, presentations, mid-term tests. Independent work: students are expected to read, write and complete assignments.
